If you have not been to the United States before, you would be wise to consider some of the following destinations so that you can really see what the country is like.

First of all, you should try to see the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. They contain the city of Denver, the highest city in the country. The mountains are the largest that can be found on the North American continent, and the views from them are breathtaking. If you want to find some activity, they also contain the best ski hills around. Snowboarding is quite popular as well.

You should also make sure that you go to the Grand Canyon. This canyon was carved by rivers and glaciers, and it is larger and more awe-inspiring than any photograph can show. You can hike with the aid of a professional tour guide down to the canyon floor. Here, the river still runs at the very bottom of the canyon. The land around the canyon is made of red rock and sand, and there are a number of other attractions nearby. One example would be Utah's Arches National Park, a land preserve where many different rock formations stand out of the desert.
