According to this story, the Guanches were gold-haired giants that survived the mysterious Atlantis, and Tenerife is one of the tops of a mountain of the sunken land.

The mountains of Tenerife divide the island into two unique sections: one consisting of tropical forests in the north, and the other consisting of scenic rocky land in the south. It is here that visitors will find Costa-Adeje and some of the most prestigious hotels on the island. While in Costa-Adeje, people will experience the island's refreshing mountain air, crisp ocean breezes and glorious beaches.

After enjoying the beaches of Costa-Adeje, people may want to visit Teide National Park. This exciting park is at the bottom of a volcano which visitors can get to by driving through mountains, quaint villages and banana plantations.

In these mountains, visitors will have the unique oppourtunity to view the Canary pines. These trees can only be found here, and the biggest tree is so large that it takes more than 10 people to surround it hand-in-hand. No trip to Tenerife would be complete without visiting the ancient pyramids of the island or Black Madonna, the guardian of Canary Islands.
