Conakry is an excellent place for those who are interested in shopping. While the country does not sell a lot of souvenir items, clothing and regional items are very easy to come by and very inexpensive for Australians to purchase, especially if tourists know how to barter for the goods. One of the best places to purchase items is at the Madina market, where everything is available at very affordable prices. Other things to do in Conakry include visiting the National Museum, which hosts artifacts and information about the ethnic tribes throughout Guinea, and booking a boat ride at the port near the President's Palace to see nearby islands.
