Fraser Coast

Boasting the beauty of the Queensland area, Fraser Coast is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for something new and unique to see. Technically, Fraser Coast is an island located off southern coastline of Queensland, Australia. In 1992, it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site. Another interesting fact is that the island is considered the largest sand island in the world, and it is also the largest Queensland island. Fraser Coast has rainforests, Eucalyptus woods, sand dunes, coastal heaths and white, sandy beaches. It is a beautiful place to visit, with a pleasant climate and lots of sunshine.

Interestingly enough, Fraser Coast is separated from the mainland by the Great Sandy Strait. There are also many sandblows on the island, which are parabolic sand dunes that travel across the island via the wind. Fraser Coast also has over 100 gorgeous lakes to enjoy. There are freshwater lakes, which are among the cleanest in the world. There are lots of animals to be seen on the island, such as dingoes, flying-foxes, sugar gliders, brush tail possums and, at one time, horses. There are also plenty of exotic amphibians and reptiles on the island.

Some of the most interesting things to do while you visit Fraser Coast is to go on the Freedom Whale Watch, which occurs in Hervey Bay. You will join a crew of other tourists, along with a skilled guide, and watch the whales as they pass around the area of the bay. Another way to enjoy the amphibious wildlife is take the Blue Dolphin Marine Tour, which will allow you to get up close and personal with the dolphins and other underwater creatures around the bay. The Unique Fraser Tag-Along Day Tours will allow you to tour the island's most famous locations in either one day or over a three day time period. It is an effective way to see the highlights of the island and lean some interesting information at the hands of experienced guides.

For people who are only visiting Fraser Coast once, The Valley Rattler is an outstanding country experience that you won't want to miss. It must be experienced to be truly appreciated. The Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum is also the perfect way to learn about the local culture and have some fun at the same time. For some seaside relaxation, visit the Esplanade.
